And speaking of food, wouldn’t it be nice to have some thing to warm your tummy as well as your heart and soul? There is a reason why they call them comfort foods. They might evoke pleasant memories of our childhood, things mom or granny used to make.   

It is no secret either that eating is often as pleasurable to folks as making love. For many chocolate is even better than sex…Both release mood lifting hormones especially when the activity is shared with a cherished partner.  

But the best comfort foods are just simply things that fill your home with aromas and flavours. Fat golden loaves of bread, flaky pies, cakes frosted with pillows of icing…. of course in moderation all things are good for you.  

 Here is a little something to try. So you can enjoy a treat while still being able to fit into your sexy lingerie sets-  

Bird's Nest

       SIMPLE, BUT NOT SINFUL, BAKED APPLES  

1. Take four large tart baking apples, granny smiths or fujis are perfect…peeled if desired, halved and cored.  

2. Place apple halves cut side up in a deep baking dish. add a splash of water to the bottom to keep the apples from sticking.  

3. Drizzle with honey or maple syrup. Sprinkle with your choice of cinnamon, a few whole cloves or…. and yes this sounds odd, try a very small glitter of fresh ground black pepper if you feel adventurous. Pepper is but another spice after all! Dot each apple half with butter only when you are in a sinful mood.  

4. Bake at 350F/180C/ gas 4  until fork tender about 30-40 minutes. There will be plenty of sweet, spicy sauce left for drizzling over the baked apples.  

*Great to serve these apples warm with ice cream for a dessert. Also try them cold for breakfast along with oatmeal, granola or natural yoghurt.
